Dr. Graeme Worboys of the Canberra area of Australia is the leader of our Mountain PA Network. Graeme has 30 years of experience working for the New South Wales National Parks and Wildlife Service (now part of the Department of Environment and Climate Change), which is part of the Australian protected areas and National Parks system and specializes in the development of effective park management techniques. He has written and co-authored a number of books on this subject including:
- Managing Protected Areas: A Global Guide (2006)
- Protected Area Management: Principles and Practice (second edition, 2005)
- Managing Mountain Protected Areas: Challenges and Responses for the 21st Century (2004)
He is also an expert on "connectivity conservation" and is helping to complete a new book on this subject. As the leader of our Mountains Biome Team, Graeme is often called upon to communicate and promote our goals in a variety of ways, including public speeches and presentations, books, press, television, and films.
