Our WCPA Mountain Biome’s team is reacting to potential mining activities in Mount Aspiring National Park and other NZ protected areas. Correspondence has been sent to the New Zealand Prime Minister and others. Given some of the focus has been on Mount Aspiring National Park, other national parks and World Heritage Sites and connectivity conservation lands, the correspondence provides a strong statement of concern from the Commission’s Mountains and Connectivity Conservation team, and complements correspondence already sent by Chairperson Nik Lopoukhine. Here is a copy of correspondence from Dr. Graeme Worboys on this issue: NZ Correspondence
